I was responsible for implementing their design as an interactive experience. With the help of the business school communications team, I took the project from design to production in just over three weeks.
\n\n
The application is a heavily customized Drupal site. I chose Drupal because that's where I was spending most of my time as a developer and doing so would give me an advantage while attempting to meet an impossible deadline. Also, using a CMS made it easy to share the load with others on the communications team. Our communicators could curate the content and build the individual profiles while I worked on theming the site to fit the design.
"},"deep_dive":{"html":"
The site uses a combination of custom content types, views, and a custom theme to create the look and feel. The animations are handled with a mix of vanilla JavaScript, open-source JavaScript frameworks, and CSS. This site uses CSS clipping and vector graphics to produce the pendant-style photo treatments, a prominent feature of the interface design.
\n\n
The school's communicators created the content, our videographer helped set up the hardware, and I programmed and installed the site. The signage is served locally, from a PC mounted behind the display.
"},"links":[],"relationships":{"media_graphic":[{"media_image":{"alt":"The Wall of Honor digital signage, a touchscreen display","height":768,"title":"","width":1024},"media_caption":"The Wall of Honor is a customized Drupal site, controlled by a touchscreen display in the atrium of Capitol Federal Hall.
